The unidentified man approached the counter at United Bank on Smoketown Road in Woodbridge around 12:30 p.m. with one hand in a bag, county police said.
Authorities said a firearm was seen in the bag, but the suspect fled the bank on foot without taking money. No shots were fired, and no injuries were reported. A police K-9 and officers searched the area for the suspect who was not found.
The suspect was described as a black male, between 35 and 40 years old, approximately 5’10”, 200 pounds, with a beard.
He was last seen wearing a fitted grey hat, a blue medical mask, a yellow safety-style vest with a grey North Face zip-up jacket underneath, a black t-shirt, dark-colored pants, and black sneakers.
